Give a Dog a Home

You can’t buy love but you can rescue it
I have been supporting rescue dogs in Ireland for many years. What started out as a love for dogs has escalated into a passion for helping find forever homes for dogs in pounds and rescues or who are about to be euthanised. My husband and I have fostered and rehomed hundreds of dogs.
Adopting a dog is one of the kindest things any human can do. The pounds and rescues are full of beautiful, healthy dogs and many dogs are put down after five days if they are not reclaimed by their owner or taken by a rescue.

Every breed of dog passes through the rescue. Purebreds like Boxers, Huskies, German Shepard’s and also many mixed breeds like Cavachons, Labradoodles etc..

Lucy at 9 months old was unwanted and a menace as she was locked up all day. The owners worked everyday and she was left inside bored and bursting with energy. This is such a typical story, the dog/puppy gets the blame when no dog should be left alone all day as they need company. Lucy’s family decided they did not want her anymore and thankfully Wicklow Animal Welfare was contacted to take her in. She was terrified, one minute in her home next in a kennel with dogs barking everywhere.

Lucy was adopted by my friend who I was out to dinner with and happened to mention she wanted to adopt a dog. Immediately I knew Lucy was for her. Lucy (along with the four other dogs they have since adopted) is living the dream in Wicklow where she is appreciated for being so cute and lovable like all dogs should be.
