Good garden design should reflect the home design style and the inside and outside should work in unison.

Growing up in the Lake District I gained extensive experience in garden landscaping and design, especially as I was lucky enough to spend some of my youth working at the historic Levens Hall in the UK and later spending time living and working in the South of France.
Formality blended with informality is a signature of my preferred style and I believe a garden should have a certain amount of romance and be in keeping with the overall design of the home or building. My passion is adding reclaimed elements from all over Europe to bring character and charm to my garden design. These can include reclaimed paving from France or Spanish cobbles, antique garden fountains and other interesting exterior antiques, pots and furniture.
Having a background in building and design has given me an understanding of architecture which is important so the garden works in conjunction with the home and that the inside and outside designs work in unison.
I am very conscious of wildlife and I work in planting to encourage a home for butterflies, bees, birds and insects to enjoy and prosper.
As Minnie and I spend a lot of time sourcing for our interior and exterior design business we have built up a lot of contacts all over Europe. We include a lot of reclaimed elements in our projects but also source reclaimed cobbles, French limestone flag stones from old chateau’s, fountains, reclaimed gates and garden accessories for the retail side of the business. These elements are so important in bringing in additional character and layers to create a garden with charm.
